The AI interview assistant for Microsoft Teams
CloakAI is a desktop app that listens to your Microsoft Teams interview and shows suggested answers, tailored to your resume and the job description, in a small overlay on your own screen. The overlay uses the operating system's screen-capture exclusion, so it is designed to stay out of anything you share in Teams, and it never joins the call or appears in the participant list.
How CloakAI stays out of your Teams screen share
Teams captures only what you choose to share: a single window or an entire screen. CloakAI draws its suggestions in a separate window that asks the operating system to leave it out of screen capture, the same mechanism apps use to protect sensitive content. You can also hide the overlay's taskbar icon and show or hide it with Alt+C.
Interviewer Audio:
"Can you explain the difference between optimistic and pessimistic locking?"
CloakAI Suggestion (0.8s):
Stealth Mode"Optimistic locking assumes multiple transactions can complete without affecting each other. It checks for conflicts before committing. Pessimistic locking blocks resources to prevent any conflicts..."
Suggestions while the interviewer is still talking
On Windows, CloakAI picks up the interviewer's voice from your default speakers or headset through system audio loopback, so there is no Teams add-in or meeting bot involved. Suggestions stream in as they are generated, and you can type or paste a question instead if you prefer. On macOS, route Teams audio through a virtual audio device such as BlackHole so CloakAI can hear it.

What CloakAI helps with in Teams interviews
Teams is the default for many corporate and enterprise interviews, which usually mix behavioral questions with technical ones. CloakAI structures behavioral answers with the STAR method and covers coding concepts and system design, using your resume and the job description to keep suggestions specific to you. Treat suggestions as a starting point: read them, then answer in your own words.
Coding knowledge
Expert insights on algorithms, syntax, and data structures (JS, Python, Go, Java, C++).
System design
High-quality architectures for load balancing, microservices, scaling, and databases.
Behavioral frameworks
Applies STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) automatically to soft-skill questions.
Instant customization
Adjusts suggestions based on your seniority level, CV, and target job description.
Microsoft Teams FAQ
Can Microsoft Teams detect CloakAI?
Teams does not scan the other apps on your computer. It only receives the audio, camera, and screen content you choose to share. CloakAI runs as a separate desktop app, installs nothing inside Teams, and does not join the meeting. The main exception is a company-managed laptop, where IT monitoring software outside Teams can see which programs are installed or running.
Will CloakAI show up if I share my screen in Teams?
CloakAI's overlay asks the operating system to exclude it from screen capture, which is designed to keep it out of both window sharing and full-screen sharing in Teams. For extra margin, share a single window rather than your entire screen.
Does CloakAI work with Teams in a web browser?
Yes. CloakAI does not connect to Teams at all; it listens to your computer's audio output. That works the same whether you join from the Teams desktop app or from teams.microsoft.com in Chrome or Edge.
Does CloakAI join the Teams meeting or appear in the participant list?
No. There is no bot, add-in, or meeting invite. CloakAI runs only on your computer, so the other participants see the same participant list they would see without it.
Can CloakAI hear the interviewer if I use headphones?
On Windows, CloakAI captures your default playback device, so headphones work when they are set as the default output in Windows sound settings. If Teams is sending audio to a different device, make that device the Windows default. On macOS, route Teams audio through a virtual audio device such as BlackHole.
Is it safe to use CloakAI on a work laptop?
We recommend a personal computer. Company-managed laptops often run monitoring or endpoint security software that can list installed and running programs, independently of Teams.
